Fast-paced, steamy and wonderful!

Wow! Miriam Minger has written a fast-paced, can't-put-it-down novel with a seriously hot hero and a heroine who grows into her true self. When virginal, bookish Hannah Flom catches the eye of hot billionaire treasure hunter Cain Thorson, she has no idea he's about to make all her steamy historical-romance-novel fantasies come true. In the first installment, he steals her away to a recreated Viking village and shows her the best use of steam baths. In the second, she's a governess to his highwayman/duke. In the third, she grows into a confident, sexually adventurous pirate queen, but by the fourth installment, when she's in the Highlands with Cain in tartan, she discovers that she wants much more than just fantasies. Wonderfully written and tastefully steamy, the author does a fabulous job graduating the shy heroine into a strong, independent woman on her own.

Enticing!

[No Spoilers.] [Short. Simple. Sweet Review.]
This is definitely a "bodice ripper." I strongly recommend buying the whole series. The first book is a good stand alone. However, if you want to know what happens between Hannah and Cain, I recommend you invest in the other three. You can see their relationship growing along with the characters themselves. Before the end of the second the book, you will be wishing you were in Hannah's shoes. I know I was! (Got me all hot and bothered. *le sigh.) You'll be dying to know how they get together in the end!!

A young lady, Hannah Flom, who wears glasses and kinda dresses frumpy loves reading her ereader about Historical Romances. She is sitting on a bench reading when Cain Thorson a friend of her boss startles her. They talk and this is when the 4 stories begin.

Cain arranges to have Hannah live the part of the book she is reading " Pagan's Pride". It continues thru the 4 Historical Romances. This is a book series you will not want to put down. Very exciting and "steamy"!

Will help any christian grow.

I have also been continuing my research into Opus Dei, this past week I read Josemaria Escriva's The Way, Furrow and The Forge. Each of these three volumes are collections of thoughts, pense's musings and meditations. They can be read from beginning to end or randomly opened and read just as you find them. Some of the reflections will require more thought and work them. Some examples that particularly grabbed my attention are:

"As soon as you willfully allow a dialogue with temptation to begin, the soul is robbed of its peace, just as consent to impurity destroys grace."

"Fight against the softness that makes you lazy and careless in your spiritual life. Remember that it might well be the beginning of tepidity ... and, in the words of the scriptures, God will vomit out the lukewarm."

Excellent Resource

I have previously reviewed each of these separately, yet the value and importance of this combined edition deserves another post. The greatest asset of this combined edition is you have the 3 most famous works by St. Josemaria Escriva in a nice neat combined edition. The individual mini editions may be slightly more portable but in this edition you have it all. The greatest advantage of this 3 in 1 edition is the combined indexes, you have a single index and can search all three books, in either the Subject Index or the Scripture Index. This book is an invaluable tool for spiritual growth!

About the Author
J. Louis Martyn is Edward Robinson Professor Emeritus of Biblical Theology at Union Theological Seminary in New York City. He is the author of "The Gospel of John in Christian History" and "Theological Issues in the Letters of Paul".

The gold standard

I ordered this along with many other references when preparing to teach a class on Galatians. The others were helpful and some were impressive but without doubt, this was by far the most objective, scholarly, and best researched volume of the ones I purchased. It is truly comprehensive in its coverage of Galatians as well as all related themes (contextual, societal, theological, politico/historical, philological). Every conceivable issue connected with the Galatian epistle and the theology of the Apostle Paul must have been addressed in this volume. Be advised that if one is looking for devotional reading or "spiritualization" of the text, this is not the volume for them. For those wanting an academic volume it is money well spent. I wonder if all Anchor Bible commentaries are this meticulously written?

really a perfect pic

This book really helped me though out my preceptorship in the operating room. I was thrown in to this unit as a nursing student. the facility had never taken on senior nursing students in a long term segment (7 weeks) and didn't have any idea what to teach me or what to do with me. My preceptor handed me this book and by the end i was able to circulate and scrub on minor cases with complete confidence in what i was doing. it is concise in some areas, and detailed where it needs to be, gives great explinations and rationals. the only problem i found was the different tools. The west coast and the east coast have different names for the instruments, and the ones named in the book are more consistant with the names in the west. but other than that. love love loved it
